Day 6 !

Lucy and I are not cooking for Spectrum again today because they have lots of food donations. We do not want to create excess food waste, so we are taking this time to look at Narcan education. Spectrum Youth provides substance abuse counseling for their community, and we are looking to learn more about educating our community on the importance of Narcan. I grew up in a place where opiate overdoses are sadly common, and already know a lot about how to use Narcan. We realized that many others may have no clue what Narcan even is. Narcan is a nasal spray used for emergency treatment of known/ suspected opioid overdose. This drug works by blocking the effects of the opioid in the brain, stopping the overdose. We are coming up with ideas to bring awareness to the Proctor community. We are looking into what safe recovery is and how to share this information with the community as well.

Serious opioid overdose symptoms: unusual sleepiness, unusual difficulty waking up, breathing problems, slow heartbeat, or low blood pressure.

Time spent today- 4 hours
